Granny carried the pain of being left at the alter her entire life, she never let it go. Had she confronted George after he failed to show up on their wedding day, she would have been able to let out her anger and humiliation rather than hold it inside to fester. Granny went on with her life, but she carried the humiliation and embarrassment with her always.... it colored her world and often took the joy away from her. Confrontation might have eliminated these feelings.
