I'm sorry, this is a short-answer "Literature" form, I cannot speak for the film. Ethical concerns revolve around Moreau's secret work... he is working on the island secretly because his actions would be scrutinized, which would threaten his research. Moreau's research, in fact, involves the torture of animals... he reshapes them, excises their brains, and uses behavior modification to make them more human. His results are appalling, but Wellls' intent is realized.... scientific experimentation cannot go unchecked, cruelty is unethical.
