1) From the text:

"‘Overboard with ‘em!’ bawled the captain. ‘Overboard with ‘em! We’ll have a clean ship soon of the whole bilin’ of ‘em.’"

"‘Overboard!’ said the captain. ‘This ship aint for beasts and cannibals and worse than beasts, any more."

2) The crew threw Pendrick into the dingey and cut him loose from the ship. He was left alone floating in the ocean where he prayed for God to let him die.
