This is the scene in which Algernon uncovers Ernest's double life. "Jack" is not his name, and he is not his Aunt's (Cecily) uncle. What a tangled web he weaves!

You asked for a comment on the quote, the note is a sign of deceit. Cecily is the Aunt, and Uncle Jack is her nephew (Ernest).
