Symbolism: Poisonous berries: How does it appear in the novel?

Poisonous berries or Nightlock berries were found by Peeta and killed Foxface. Katniss saves them hoping to use on Cato. Instead she uses them to rebel at the end of the book. She threatens to kill herself and Peeta because there could only be one winner.
