so, in the book (Hunger Games) how much does a mockingbird pin cost?

Katniss goes to like a little market and buys a mockingbird pin. The lady tells her, "You can keep it." Why does the lady not give her any MONEY to pay for the mockingbird pin?

The lady's just being nice Ava.

It doesn't say but the lady who Katniss the pin said, "You can keep it." The lady I think knows what she's doing because she's being nice about it.
