Katniss is all about trust and loyalty. There are the traits that she holds in great esteem. It is ironic that Katniss hangs on to these traits in a game designed to foster betrayal. Most of the characters have to betray one another at some point to survive. Katniss and Peeta use trust and loyalty, plus a little romantic tension, to outlast the other tributes. Eventually they even use trust and loyalty to outlast the Capital.
