The author states the virus as,"....the face of Nature herself, the obscene goddess revealed naked. This life form thing was breathtaking beautiful." How does the use of imagery and personification convey the author's view of the viiruus?

From the author's description, we can infer that he was awed by the virus. None-the-less, its comparison to the "obscene goddess" also reveals his repulsion and feeling that the virus was uncontrollable.
