    Infection Timeline

    Kind of Activity:

    Collaborative Writing

    Objective:

    To understand the horror with which Preston's writing style empowers Ebola

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.3, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.8

    Structure:

    Divide the students into small groups. Each group should pick a common disease, likely one most of them have experienced, like the flu or the common cold or the chicken pox.

    Initiate a five-minute discussion in each group. The members should ask each other: "Have you ever had [disease]? What were the symptoms? How did you feel? What were the warning signs? How did you get it?" Then each group should spend five or ten minutes...
