The Hobbit

Where in Chapter 5 does it discuss where Bilbo has stepped out of his comfort zone of being a Baggins and demonstrated the Took side of himself?

It does not mention it in the book.

When Bilbo realizes he is carrying the blade from Gondolin, he puts away his self-pity, and like a Took.... thinks of adventure.

But somehow he was comforted. It was rather splendid to be wearing a blade made in Gondolin for the goblin-wars of which so many songs had sung; and also he had noticed that such weapons made a great impression on goblins that came upon them suddenly.
