Daisy represents the women of the "elite" social class, the unattainable, perfect woman. She represents success.

Jordan represents the 1920s; she represents the changes the time provided for women of that decade, and their embracing of a looser, decadent lifestyle..... just having fun.

Gatsby represents the American Dream.

Nick represents midwestern values, although those values are corrupted for a time.

Myrtle represents unhappy women of all generations.

Tom represents power, money, and the elite opinion that having money excuses your actions.

Daisy represents Fitzgerald's wife

Jay and Nick both represent Fitzgerald himself
