Nick describes Daisy’s voice as "a deathless song.” Through Nick, Fitzgerald is suggesting that Daisy symbolizes eternal life. Youth was important (it still is), and during this time period it was intrinsically associated with money because only the rich could live leisurely lives without the burdens of stress or physical labor.
