What is Nick's "provincial squeamishness" that tom dislike?

Nick's squeamishness comes from the fact that Tom truly acts like nothing has happened and that he has no responsibility. Nick is disgusted by Tom and Daisy's nonchalance and carelessness. He's squeamish to so much as shake the man's hand.
