what was the deal with all the birds and the different shots of the birds in the movie? (The birds in the feeder when Gatsby and daisy reunite, the dead seagull after Gatsby's party for daisy, etc.) What do you think they might symbolize or represent?

I don't know about the film, but there are numerous mentions of birds in the text. For the most part, the birds are symbolic of freedom. "Owl-Eyes" lead us to think of the intelligent, all seeing bird that passes judgment. The nightingales sing romantically.... ghostly birds sing in the garden at Gatsby's party.
