The similarities would be the condition of the guests.... everyone has had too much to drink and parties to the fullest. A big difference between the two parties would be the settings. In Chapter Two, Tom and Myrtle's party takes place at their hidden apartment. Gatsy's party is set in the midst of opulence.... he serves only the best food and drink. Tom and Myrtle serve whiskey. Lastly, Tom and Myrtle know their guests..... even if it's just in passing. Most of Gatsby's guests are total strangers to him.
