In Chapter 7 , Why does Tom insit that Daisy go home with Gatsby? What do you think this tells us about Tom's character and his relationship with Daisy?

Tom is pretty sure of himself. Tom feels that Gatsby is no longer a threat to taking Daisy away from him. He wants to rub Gatsby's face in the fact that Gatsby is impotent when it comes to Daisy, Daisy belongs to him (Tom).
