The Great Gatsby

I don't understand this conversation between Nick and Jordan?

"You said a bad driver was only safe until she met another bad driver? Well, I met another bad driver, didn't I? I mean it was careless of me to make such a wrong guess. I thought you were rather an honest, straightforward person. I thought it was your secret pride."

"I'm thirty," I said. "I'm five years too old to lie to myself and call it honor."

I don't get why Jordan is calling him dishonest. I also don't understand his reply?

Well, what do you not get about it? I may be able to help you if you clarify more clearly?

In chapter 3, Jordan comments how she likes Nick because he is a "safe driver" Now she is saying Jordan is a "bad driver". I just don't understand what happened between them for Jordan to say he isn't honest and straightforward. And for Nick's reply, I just don't understand what he's trying to refer to. "I'm five years too old to lie to myself (about what?) and call it honor."

Well, hm...let's think about this: Well, hmm....okay, let me get my book and check it out...I'll be right back okay Fitzwallace H.?
