The Great Gatsby

How is the comparison of Gatsby with Christ ironic?

"He was a son of god... and he must be about his father's business"

Jesus was always about his Father's business, and his Father was always aware of what he was doing...... it was always the right thing. Gatsby, on the other hand, had turned his back on his father, who knew nothing of his actions. Had he continued, he'd be disowned.
