The Great Gatsby

How does Nick describe Gatsby’s house at the beginning of chapter 8? How is this description different from how his home was portrayed earlier in the text?

How does he look at it now?

Gatsby's mansion is described as empty and deteriorating. This is in stark contrast with the heady days of parties and immaculate grounds. The deterioration of the Gatsby''s place represents the deterioration of his dream. The illusion he built for Daisy is evaporating.
