Tom calls Gatsby a "common swindler" and reveals that he has made his fortune in bootlegging. Tom ends the party and insists on driving home. Tom is jealous of Daisy's relationship with Gatsby. Although Daily might love Gatsby, she sides with Tom because of his old and secure money.
