From Gatsby's actions and demeanor, we can infer that he was a determined man, ready and willing to do whatever was necessary to fulill his dreams. His main dream was attaining Daisy..... of making himself worthy. His failure in that quest was never understanding that she would always be unattainable. We can also infer that he allowed nothing to stand between himself and what he desired. He believed that wealth would make him worthy of Daisy's hand, thus, he got rich doing whatever he had to do, legal or illegal. Gatsby was focused, some would say naive. He lied, cheated, and technically stole....... yet he was never anything but honest about his intent.

Despite our limited face time with Gatsby himself, what do we know or can we infer about him and his role in society?

Thanks
