The Great Gatsby

Chapter 8

Closely examine the paragraph that begins with "He did extraordinarily well in the war" down to "The letter reached Gatsby while he was still…" What may the letter from Gatsby to Daisy have contained (the one we learned about in chapter 4-- the one Daisy cried about in the bathtub on her wedding day)?

We never find out the content of the letter. We can infer that Gatsby is still alive and that Daisy is still in love with him.
