Are Gatsby's expectations of Daisy realistic? Why or why not?

Gatsby's vision of Daisy is largely an illusion. He is in love with the idea of Daisy rather than Daisy herself. Daisy is actually quite a superficial person but Gatsby is lost in the romantic idea of her. He wants to force the past into the present and that just cannot happen. Daisy will never be the fantasy girl that he envisions.
