Can the narrator of the novel, Nick Carraway, be trusted? Why or why not?

Yes, Nick is an honest man. We might hold the fact that he is aware of the affair between Gatsby and Daisy, but we also have to remember that Tom introduced him to his mistress at the start. For some, this might be a moral quandry.... for others, they might claim that this was just a normal way of living for the rich familes in the East Egg. None-the-less, Nick is probably the only character in the story I would truat if I needed to ask for help.
