What is the significance of the car dealer?

THis chapter really critiques part of the capitalist business system. The car dealers will exploit the most destitute of people. THey find dilapidated cars that barely run and pressure families desperate to get out. I think that the car salesmen represent "a perpetual cycle of exploitation" that pervades this story.
