How would you retell the beginning of the story from another character's point of view?

This is written in third person. Often the narrator would take on the voice of person outside the story. Doing a first person narration would changes the tone of the story depending on which character you picked. If you were using Ma Joad, you would be concerned with matters of family, family displacement...In Chapter one, she would be lamenting about their shack being bulldozed by the "cats" and the family having to move to California. She would be praying the family would just stick together. She would also be concerned about her son Tom getting out of prison.
