Describe the relationship between grandpa and grandma.

Grandpa Joad is the head of the family (in name only); he fights against leaving his land, loves to give his wife a hard time, and is devastated by the loss of their family heritage. Shortly after they leave their home he has a stroke, not long after that Grandma dies as well. The two were a couple, a true partnership.
