The Good Earth

What else would fortune be besides materialistic? What components could I plan to use to prove my point? What particular struggles are there between the wealthy and the poor?

I am writing an essay on The Good Earth with the Theme Analysis of: There is a constant struggle between the wealthy and the poor in society.

PLEASE HELP. ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE HELPFUL!!!

Wealth can be found in happiness, health, and the love of a family. Look at the rich family in the big house..... they're not happy; they don't have a happy ending, in fact they lose everything. Take Wang- his wife isn't pretty enough so he buys himself more trouble in taking a young wife. In the end, which wife deserves his love and gratitude. You have many examples here of the difference between being wealthy financially and simply being wealthy because you have everything that matters.
