Chacko has quite a few setbacks. His first wife divorces him because of his lazy nature. She leaves him for a  more "dependable" biologist. Chacko also misses out on seeing his daughter Sophie Mol grow up. Chacko earnestly believes he can somehow win his wife and daughter back and it is sad to see his efforts go in vain.
