The Glass Menagerie

Amanda censors Tom's reading saying she will not have filth in the house. Tom counters by saying that heaps the rent, so it is his house. Who do you think is right? What is the book Amanda alludes to?

scene three thanks

No, Amanda really doesn't have the right to confiscate her son's books. Yes, he pays the bills, but he's also an adult..... thus, she should not treat him like a child. The book in question was a novel by the provocative writer, D.H. Lawrence.
