why did rosmarry let her children do every thing they want ?

Rosemary enjoys art and dislikes rules. She frequently withdraws into her own world and is incredibly self-involved, sometimes to the point of placing her children in harm. Mother (Rosemary) actually resents her children for standing in the way of her becoming a free spirited artist.
