The Glass Castle

Jeanette has always supported her father and been his greatest admirer. As the story progresses, why do we see Jeanette's attitude slowly changing toward her father?

Try to think of events and details that would make Jeanette change toward her father.

Jeanette's father abuses his relationship with Jeanette over and over again. She is the child that would stand up for him no matter what, and yet, he threw that away for alchohol and making easy money. He let her down over and over again. Her attitude changes with her need for survival. She can't save them both, so she has to save herself.
