Most of Jeannette’s lessons are learned from experience. Jeannette and her siblings must learn to be resourceful because their parents certainly were not providing what they needed. Jeannette would use these skills when she is on her own. Jeannette also did not become emotionally attached to people and places as her family skedaddled at the drop of a hat. This was both good and bad for Jeanette. Jeanette also appreciated the loyalty she had with her siblings as they had to constantly stand up for each other. Jeannette carried this assertiveness into later life.
