No, I wouldn't say she's a great mom, but I'll give her a great "friend." Rosemary sees her children as an encumbrance. She simply wants to immerse herself in her artwork and not be bothered by the responsibility of motherhood. Rosemary did attend college to be a teacher, but she resents teaching as much as she resents her children. Each of these things are seen by Rosemary as obstacles to her dreams.
