describe the fight with ernie goad

Ernie is a kid in Welch who bullies Jeannette and Brian and calls their family garbage. Brian and Jeannette team up to fend off Ernie and his gang in an effort they later called the 'Battle of Little Hobart Street'. Jeannette Walls is playing on an old Tank at the armoury. Ernie throws rocks at her and insults her family. There is some pushing between the two. On the next Saturday Jeannette and Brian are reading and are startled by their window shattering. Ernie and three thug friends had done this and the fight escalates into the 'Battle of Little Hobart Street.'
