Dominique struggles to destroy Roarke because they are so very alike. Howard Roarke is the pure creator, he works independently, and he doesn't allow anyone else to control him. Dominique believes that the type of power she and Roarke hold is necessary to society, and by withholding her power and attempting to destroy Roarke's, she can deprive the world of what it needs most.

Unlike Dominique, Roarke doesn't care about the world; he believes in following his creativity barr nothing; the world isn't important as long as he is left to do what he wants. Roarke doesn't care about the evil in the world; he doesn't need to understand it because he will not allow it to exist in HIS world.

Roarke is her alter-ego. He does what Dominique is afraid to do, and she figures if he fails she was right........ but if he succeeds....... she can too. There is so much more to the story, but the couple? They turn out just fine!

Dominique see's the greatness in Roark's buildings that no one else but Toohey see's. She can't stand the idea of Roark wasting his greatness on men who will never understand it. In this quote it expresses why, EXACTLY, she is out to destroy Roark:“When you see a man casting pearls without getting even a pork chop in return-it is not against the swine that you feel indignation. It is against the man who valued his pearls so little that he was willing to fling them into the muck…” (This takes place while she is in the courtroom testifying against Howard Roark)

idk. but the answer lies within. Yes, he says he loves her, but it is still debating if he really means what he say or if she loves him. It's easy to say, but everyone knows actions speak louder than words. If he loves her but does her wrong we ask ourselves why stay. Did she get that love at her young age?

If not, now she willing to do anything for it. Is it because even if her hurts she want it. For him you don't hurt people you love. You have to show it with everything you got. It so amazing and questionable until it's hard to explain.
