How does the author portray Uncle Mickey in Chapter two?

Uncle Mickey is playful in a rough way. He holds Eddie upside down to give him the bumps on his birthday. Mickey does not clue in that Eddie is visibly upset by this. Eddie is boisterous but not very empathetic.
