The major theme of this book involves Eddie understanding that his life did have meaning. His work at Ruby Pier was important in bringing joy to people. Families enjoyed the rides and Eddy, for the most part, kept them safe. Eddie even gave his life saving a little girl from certain death. Eddie had to learn that success in life comes in many different ways.
