Initially, we don't see many good points in Gilgamesh's character. He is selfish, tyrannical, abusive, and oppressive. Over time, his journey teaches him many lessons. He learns the value of friendship, the need for loyalty, and the necessity of justice. Gilgamesh is strong both physically and mentally. He is tenacious, and he is determined. He also learns that a good life and attaining wisdom marks one's life..... not the desire for immortality. He learns that to become immortal, one must simply act and rule in a way that your life has been marked.
