The Epic of Gilgamesh

In the Sumerian culture, a “prostitute” was also a temple priestess, so there is something religious about Enkidu’s encounter with the prostitute. Compare Enkidu before and after this encounter, and explain its deeper meaning.

In Sumerian culture, the temple priestess or prostitute was a channel or conduit to divinity. Enkidu's encounter has nothing to do with immorality..... sexual encounters, particularly in regard to the priestess, were a connection with the goddess.
