In context, Gilgamesh and Enkidu defeat Ishtar's bull, which causes her to curse them. In return, Enkidu throws the bull's bloody haunch at her, then he and Gilgamesh proceed to bathe in the Euphrates River. That night, Enkidu dreams the gods are angry with them and have decided that one of the companions must die for the death of Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. In his dream, they decide that Enkidu will be the one to die. Enkidu soon becomes ill and dies...... making his dream true.
