Who is Mrs. Dubedat? What is her effect on Ridgeon? Why does Ridgeon decide to help her husband? What problem does this create for Ridgeon?

Mrs. Dubedat is a young, beautiful and charming woman who is devoted to her husband, Louis. She seeks out Dr. Ridgeon in order for him to personally cure Louis, but Ridgeon passes him off to Dr. Bonington as he knows that Louis won't survive by being treated by him. Jennifer befriends all of the doctors except for Ridgeon whom she comes to despise for knowingly not treating her husband and thus killing him. She remarries and holds an exhibit of her late-husband's works.
