why was Anne not allowed to get up early at 6 o clock?

The question is from the first page of her novel, second day's diary entry.

Anne doesn't explain why she is not allowed to get up. Possibly, her parents believed in a good night's sleep.

"I was awake at six o'clock, which isn't surprising, since it was my birthday. But I'm not allowed to get up at that hour, so I had to control my curiosity until quarter to seven."
