why does anne say paper is more patient then people

Anne makes this comment regarding "people" because she feels she has no true friends. Her lack of friends and the behavior or actions of those she knows leads her to comment that "paper" has more patience than people. We can infer, that because paper has no patience....... her friends do not either.
