why do you think Anne Frank collected pictures of movie stars?

I actually have an old activity for this that I use to use in class. Basically Anne collected pictures of movie stars and their bios. This was a popular hobby for girls of about her age at the time (1940's). There was a plethora of clubs girl's could write into and get a picture back of their favorite stars. This was an escape for Ann. Her reality was harsh and uncompromising. Pictures and articles of the golden age of Hollywood gave Ann a hobby that enabled her to dream. It allowed her to be a young girl at least for some fleeting moments during the day.
