Before the news of the D-Day invasion, the inhabitants of the annex are despairing...... almost hopeless. The annex is hot, its members argue over nonsensical things, gunfire is heard regularly. Anne, her family, and the others are frightened and tense. They wait for news, and when the Allies invade..... it's cause for a HUGE celebration.
