Anne's diary reflects the emotions of a teen just going through her pre-adolescent and adolescent stage. She "vents" when she wants to get something off her chest since she really has no one to talk to except Kitty. She tries to control her emotions, but sometimes the writing shows her anger or her difficulty in living in the Secret Annexe.
