The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

What do you think is most likely reason for the author to have continued this diary after she and her family went into hiding?

In my opinion, Anne continued to keep the diary not only as a way of recording her thoughts, anger and emotions but because she enjoyed writing. The diary was something that belonged to her.... and living in that very small area with so many people, having things that belong to only you would have been important.

"The first thing I put in was this diary, then hair curlers, handkerchiefs, schoolbooks, a comb, old letters; I put in the craziest things with the idea that we were going into hiding. But I'm not sorry, memories mean more to me than dresses."
