Although the rules were a product of the van Daan family, the typewritten rules were an indispensable tool for keeping everyone safe. The existence of these rules and adherence to them kept the members of the annex safe and also served to keep them organized and well aware of things such as rations and supplies, not to mention bathroom time.....
