Anne never really gets a career. She has aspirations that she thinks about while she is in hiding. For much of the diary Anne does not get to live a life like other girls her age. I think issues relating to her future are magnified because they could be caught and put to death at any moment. Anne is forced to mature quickly as she grapples with her adolescent feelings and her precarious future.
